A story from father to son

The Haelterman Group’s history of beverage distribution dates back to 1928.
The family business began with Albert Haelterman, who set up a drinks business in his garage.
A few years later, his son Jacques, then aged 17, decided to take over the reins and marked a turning point in the group’s history by obtaining the rights to import the Danish brand Carlsberg into the Belgian market in 1964.

Today, Michel and Paul Haelterman, the founder’s grandsons, manage the group.

1928

The origins of this family business go back to Albert Haelterman, who set up a drinks business in his garage.

1964

Jacques Haelterman acquires the import rights to the Danish Carlsberg brand.

1982

Michel Haelterman expands distribution activities, notably by buying out a number of competitors

1992

Integration of Chais du Nord, active in wine promotion and distribution.
Transformation of the Haelterman brewery into HLS – Horeca Logistic Services.
Arrival of Paul Haelterman from Coca-Cola.

2002

Paul Haelterman creates Tao, his own brand of healthy beverages

2004

Creation and launch of the Bionina brand

2006

Launch of Masalto Specialty Coffee brand.

2007

Change of name from Chais du Nord to V.AS.Co (Valuable Savours Company)

2018

Introduction of Carlsberg 0.0.

2019

Launch of St-Hubertus own-brand abbey beer

2020

Wolf food market opens in Brussels

2022

Distribution partnership with Diageo (the world’s largest producer of spirits) and Giffard (manufacturer of liqueurs and syrups).

 

2023

Acquisition of a large number of traders by HLS to increase its distribution network to over 4,000 customers
